NAPIEK, August 16, The Harbor Board meeting have resolved to invite competitive tenders for harbor improvements, offering a premium of £SOO for the best; £l5O will be expended in supplying plans, roadstead and existing harbor works to competitors. A quarter-acre section opposite the Post Office has been sold for £3260 to the Colonial Bank.

The weather has again set in wet, NELSON, August 16, An inquest was hold this morning on the body of Wm. Nelson, who was found dead in his cell at the gaol yesterday. The evidence showed that the utmost attention and kindness was given to deceased, who was left alone at his own request; and although the doctor, who saw the man on Sunday morning, had diagnosed his case correctly, there appeared no probability of a fatal termination. The post mortem examination found that death resulted from congestion of the lungs, but the liver was diseaied also, and the stomach and intestines congested. A verdict was given accordingly.
