SYDENHAM POULTRY SHOW.

Banks ; canaries and songsters, Mr T. Batchelor; pigeons, Messrs Sly and Kerr; pigeon race, Mr W. E. Earnshaw. The first show of the newly.formed Sydenham Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Society was held this day in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Sydenham, and, judged from the number of classes and exhibits, as also the quality of the birds shown, the exhibition may be pronounced a decided success. _ In the poultry classes there were 173 entries, most of the classes filling well. No turkeys or geese were shown. Ducks were represented in the Aylesbury and Bonen classes only. The pigeons were a fine lot of birds, com-

prising Carriers, Dragoons, Pouters, Kite Tumblers, Almond Tumblers, Flying Tumbler-, Bmbs, Jacobins, Fantails, Baldheads, Beards, Nuns, English Owls, African Owls, Magpies, and Antwerpi. The canaries were alto a magnified!(^collections—viz., Belgians, iu clear yellow, clear buff, ticked buff, and variegated yallows ; Norwich in almost every variety, Golden and Silver Lizards, Cinnamons in thi ir different varieties, Green Canaries, and also Light and Dark Goldfinch Mules, The total number of classes were sixty-one, and the entries numbered upwards of 380. The arrangements in the Hall for displaying the various exhibits were very good, the poultry and ‘ducks being arranged in two double rows, each two tiers in height down the centre, the loft hand side being devoted to various classes oi game fowls; whilst the pigeons were ranged along the right side of the Hall, in front of the stage, and also in the room at the rear of the Hall; the canaries and singing birds being displayed on the stage. The prize list wll appear tomorrow.
