WELLINGTON, August 9. A four-roomed cottage at Newton was destroyed by fire at eir o’clock this morning. The place was unoccupied. The fire originated through the owner of the house, who resides next door, and who was cutting firewood inside, knocking over a kerosene lamp. The house is injured for £IOO in the South British, but the loss is estimated at £SO above that amount.
