ENGLISH & FOREIGN. [rbuter’b TELEGEAMS.] LONDON, July 20. Consols are unchanged at 99f. The Bank rate of discount remains at 3 per cent.; the market rate has been reduced to 2-£. New Zealand securities are without quotable change. There are no alterations in the markets for colonial breadatuffs or tallow.
A farther opening' up of the Orient s cargo shows that the meat is for the most part very lean. Ten per cent, of cargo has become mildewed during the voyage. For sound carcases full prices are being maintained. The homeward Suez mail*, which Itfc Melbourne on the 6th of June, were delivered in London to-day. The Australian cricketers commenced another match to-day against an Eleven of Yorkshire, the scene of the contest being on this occasion Middlesborongh. The Australians went in first, and were all disposed of for 222. McDotmell played a splendid innings for 82, caught and bowled. Murdoch was bowled for 44, and also batted well. When the stumps were drawn for the day the Yorkshiremen had put together 57 runs for the loss of five wickets. The weather daring the day was fine, and there was a very largo attendance. The chief of the police at Dublin has resigned.
