[better's telegrams,] MELBOURNE, June 23. Arrived—This afternoon, the Union Company’s steamship Ringarooma, from the Bluff. Sailed, this afternoon, the Union Company’s steamship Hero, for New Zealand. SYDNEY, June 22. Mr Gregson, manager of the Agricultural Colliery Company, Newcastle, has accepted the proposals of the miners for a settlement of the strike, with the exception of unimportant points, which he has reserved. It is now expected that an amicable settlement of the dispute will be effected. New Zealand wheat has further declined, and is now quoted at ss. New Zealand oats remain at 3s 9d; maize at 5s 2d. Sugar Company’s No. 1 pieces, per ton, £35. ADELAIDE, June 23. Wheat is quoted at 6s to 6s 3d, and holders are anxious to realise. Town flonr, per ton, £l4; country brands, £l3. Freights are very depressed.
