When the charge against T. Booth, of putting names on the Wallace roll without sufficient authority, was called on in the Supreme Court to-day, Mr Stout, for the defence, sub mitted that a certificate granted to Booth in the Election Petition Court would free him from indictment. The Judge admitted the difficulty, and reserved the point. Afterwards the Court and counsel agreed that proceedings should bo stayed in the ease of Booth. Daniel was acquitted on all charges. AUCKLAND. June 23. The criminal calendar for the next sitting of the Supreme Court includes two persons charged with attempted murder, one felonious wounding, one stabbing, one rape, one offence against the person, five breaking and entering, two stealing from the dwelling, one a Native forging and uttering, and one illegally on premises. The concert at Newton Catholic Church realised £125.

A special meeting of the City Council yesternight, recommended the Government in Eden suburbs joining the city, to form them into three wards, viz :—No. 1. Ponsanby and Newton; .
