PURE-BRED AYRSHIRE CATTLE.

At noon this day Messrs H. Matson and Co. submitted a number of pure-bred Ayrshire cattle to public competition at Tatter sail’s. These comprised cows, two-year-old and yearling heifers, and two-year-old and yearling bulls. Thera was a good attendance, but the bidding was very languid, the prices realised not being commensurate with the merits of the cattle, which were selected from the herds of Mr David Warnook, of Southland, whose reputation as a breeder of Ayrshire stock is too well known in Now Zealand to require comment.
