A vole of thanks was passed to Mr Love for erecting a gate to the entrance of the ground. NORTH CANTERBURY FOOTBALL CLUB. In consequence of the unfavorable weather on Saturday there was no practice held of the members of this club, and the meeting to consider the change of the colors of the club also stands adjourned. BAST CHRISTCHURCH CLUB v CHRIST’S COLLEGE. This match was played on Saturday afternoon on the College Ground, which was not in such good order as usual, being very slippery, owing to the rain that fell in the morning. At three o’clock the ball was kicked off by Lee ; the first spell wag a succession of scrimmages in the centre of the ground. In the second and third spells Bast Christchurch had things all their own way, having the College in their twenty-five mostly all the time. Five trie) were given up by the Yellows, but as the umpire was unable to give his decision through the ball being so densely covered by the players, nil was the result, bnt at the end of the third spell Wilson obtained a try, but no goal was kicked when time was called. Wilaoa now had to leave to catch the North train, thus making the gold and black three men short. Fuller kicked off for the last spell. After several scrimmages Lee got hold of the ball and made a splendid run in and obtained a try behind the goal post, which he afterwards converted into a goal. Another try gained by Mathias brought a moat enioyable game to an end, leaving the College victorious by one goal and one try to one try. For the College—Lee, Mathias (2), Dixon, Hutton, Haast and Bridge pi yod well. For E.0.F.0. Blanchard, Mountfort, De Castro, Atack, Kesteven and Wilson showed up well. The losers played under disadvantage, having two men short all through and throe the last spell. Next Saturday the E 0.F.0. will play at Rangiora, and, as at all the matches played this season they have had two to three men short, it is hoped a full team wi'l muster, and that the Rangiora boys will be well beaten.
