[eeutee’s telegrams.] MELBOURNE, May 13

The steamship Te Anau, which arrived last evening from Bluff, encountered a most furious gale, which lasted the whole of Sunday and Monday last. The seas were very rough and most dangerous, hut the vessel behaved admirably. The passengers on arrival presented an address and a purse of sovereigns to Captain Carey, Mr Russell (mate), and Mr Macivy (chief engineer). The s.s. Tamar arrived here yesterday from Hohart, after a passage of eleven days, during which she encountered a most terrific gale. The Victorian agricultural statistics for 1881, which have just been issued, show that the total yield of wheat last year was 8,710,000 bushels, being a decrease of 1,010,000 compared with 1880. The average of wheat per acre was 9|- bushels. The total yield of oats was 36,100,000 bushels, being an increase of 1,250,000 compared with 1880, the average produce being 24|- bushels to the acre.
