[keutee’s telegrams.] LONDON, May 11. Consols remain at 100-J-. The Bank rate of discount remains at 3 per cent; the market rate has been reduced to 2%. The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is £12,500,000, the same as last week. New Zealand securities are unchanged. Colonial breadstuffs and tallow are without quotable change. The funeral of Lord Frederick Cavendish took place to-day at Chatsworth, Derbyshire. Fully 50,000 persons were present, including members of the Ministry and of both Houses of Parliament. It is announced that Leonard Courtenay, M.P., Under-Secretary for the Colonies, has been appointed Financial Secretary to the Treasury, vice the late Lord Frederick Cavendish, and that the Hon. R. Evelyn Ashley, Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade, has been appointed to succeed Mr Courtenay as Under-Secretary for the Colonies. May 12.
