[beuteb’s telegrams.] SYDNEY, May 9. A dastardly attempt was made last night to overthrow the train on the Campbelltown line by placing logs on the rails. The obstruction was fortunately discovered in time to prevent an accident. The perpetrators of the outrage have not yot boon discovered. Sailed this afternoon—Hero, s.s., for Wellington. ADELAIDE, May 9. In the insurance conspiracy case, the prisoners Barker, Horton, and Morrison, who were recently found guilty, have been sentenced to the following terms of imprisonment: Barker, four years ; Horton, two years; and Morrison, one year.
