A test case was brought up in the Resident Magistrate’s Court to-day to prohibit shooting game on Sundays. The prosecution asked the Bench to decide whether, as there was no New Zealand Act in force, the English Acts would be in force in the colony. Argument was heard in favor of the defendant, after which the Bench decided that the case must be dismissed, as there was no Act in fores in New Zealand prohibiting the shooting of game on Sundays.
