Local Option at Heaxhcote. The decision of the poll yesterday in Heathcota licensing district was, in erery instance, against permission for the chance of an increase in the number of licenses. At the Hcathcoto office, before Mr Or. L. Lee, returning officer, the votes resulted as follow : Publicans’ licenses —For, 83 ; against, 126 ; majority against, 43. New Zealand wine licenses —For, 61; against, 126 ; majority against, 65. Accommodation licenses —For, 64; against, 124 ; majority against, 60. Bottle licenses For, 57; egainet, 123; majority against, 66. The number on the roll is 1789 ;of these 230 voted. Fourtesn informal votes were submitted. Considerable interest was tekon locally in the issue of the voting, out scarcely a score of people remained outside the office to bear the result declared, unofficially.
