(PRESS ASSOCIATION TBLBGRAM.] AUCKLAND, March 8.

At the University Senate sittings to-day, Sir G. M. O’Borke succeeded in carrying the following resolutions :—“ Attendance at lectures in an institution affiliated to the New Zealand University shall not be compulsory m the case of undergraduates residing more than ten miles from such institution.” “ Attendance at lectures in an institution affiliated to the New Zealand University shall not be compulsory in the case of undergraduates who may bo engaged in acquiring a profession or trade, or in earning a livelihood.” Bishop Redwood seconded the motion.
