AUCKLAND, January 10.

The mail steamer came in soon after noon with the yellow flag flying. She went down to tho quarantine station, and the Customs launch and health offioer went down. Dr, Philson found that there are two oases of smallpox on the Zsalaudia. They broke out on the third and seventh days after leaving Honolulu. Both are steerage passengers, and doing well, A steerage passenger named Kerr for Adelaide died this morning of consumption. Tho Auckland cargo was transferred to a sohooner, and the Auckland passengers have been sent to quarantine. The Zealandia will not get away to Sydney till to-morrow. WELLINGTON, January 10. Tho secretary of tho Post-office states that the Health Officer in Auckland has ordered that every letter by the Zealandia shall be separately fumigated. The mail consists of about 25,000 letters, and tho officers will be kept continuously at work, with the view of despatching as many of the Southern letters bb possible by the Penguin, which leavee Onehunga at 11 to-morrow, via Nelson, and is expected to arr.ve here on Friday, The Auckland mails will not be fumigated until all the Southern letters are done, and it is hoped that the whole of the letters may be ready for the Penguin. If not they will be sent by the Te Anau, leaving Auckland on Thursday, and newspapers will probably come by the tame vessel.
