LONDON, November 24. The strike among the potters in Staffordshire still continues. Thirty thousand of them are now out of work, all attempts at reconciliation between the masters and men having hitherto failed. In oonsequenoe of the heavy rains that have lately been experienced the rivers in Buckinghamshire have overflowed their banks and flooded the adjacent oountry. Great damage has been done to farmers and others.
A serious railway accident occurred near Savannah, the chief city of the State of Georgia, owing to a train running into another. Several passengers were killed, and a number injured. A railway collision took place near Dundee, Scotland, causing the death of several persons, and more or less injury to a good many others.
An excited condition of feeling still exists in Ireland, and among the other outrages perpetrated that of incendiarism is becoming prevalent. In Loughrea, a market town of some importance near Galway, two houses were set on fire, the circumstances in connection therewith pointing clearly to a deliberate attempt to destroy the buildings. Amongst the damage caused by the heavy gale has been the destruction of the pier at Yentnor, a fashionable watering place on the south coast of the Isle of Wight, and a favorite summer resort for invalids.
The Dockyard Church at Sheerness, one of the principal Naval arsenals situated on the Island of Sheppey, at tho junction of the Medwoy and Thames, was destroyed by fire yesterday. The conflagration took place during divine service, and in the rush that ensued to escape from the burning building, and the subsequent attempts to extinguish the flames, beveral lives were lost. An excited state of feeling exists in Limerick, and the authorities have deemed it necessary to take stringent precautions to prevent any disturbance. A vigorous searoh for arms is being prosecuted by tho Constabulary, and considerable numbers of concealed weapons have been seized.
