OHBISTOHUROH. Tuesday, December 6. [Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., E.M.]

DHUNKENtfESB.—AIice Greaves, oharged with this offence, who had been arrested the previous night and let out on bail, did not appear. She was ordered to show cause why her bail should not be estreated. James Hamilton was brought up for being drunk and breaking a pane of glass, valued at 30s, in tho shop of W. B. Cook, High street, on Monday night. Ho was fined 5s for being drunk. There was no evidence against him as to the breakage, and that charge was dismissed. Uhcontboilabib Child.—Selina Larramann was brought up under tho Neglected and Criminal Children Act. Her mother stated that she was twelve years old ; sho was a thoroughly bad ohild ; Bhe had contracted very bad habits ; often swore at her mothor, and sho had run away from four or five situations within a month, and wbb quite uncontrollable. Accused, who cried bitterly, was ordered to be sent to the Industrial Sohooi at Barnham for two years. Civil Cases. —Church v James, olaim £lO 3s4d,for clothes, &o.,supplied. Mrlzardforde-f-.ndant. Itappean d oj the statement of plaintiff that some of tho goods had been supplied to tho father of defendant, who is a lady, on her guarantee, the others had been supplied to herself. For the defence it was contended that the father oould not be sued, as ho was a bankrupt, and the daughter could not be compelled to justify her guarantee if she had given one, as she was a minor. Further, that some of the goods had not been delivered to her at all. Defendant could not appear on account of ill health, and the cue adjourned till Deoember 20th.—Stratz v Dovonport, a claim for £4 17s 9d for rates said to be due on a property rented from plaintiff, who, however, oould not produce any agreement on the part of defendsmt to pay rates, and he was nonsuited with oosts. Mr Thomas appoared for defendant.—Judgments went by default for plaintiffs in Avon Boad Board v Bridges, £4 15s 4»; Same v Moon, £4 lis 8d ; and Suffolk Brewery Company v Fleming, £2 Is 6d. Bowman v Stevens was adjourned till December 13th.
