The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Thursday, November 17th,were as follows: —Spirits, £2OO 18s 7d; tobacco, £123 4s lid; cigars, £2O 19s 8d; wine, £2B 0s 6d ; tea, £9 10s 4d; goods by weight, £37 19s 9d; ad valorem, £69 14s; other duties, £6 6s. Total, £502 13s 9d. SHAEE MAEKET. Dunedin, November 18. Mr J. B. Bradshaw reports :—Banks —New Zealand, £23 15s; National. £4; Colonial, £2 7s ; Insurances New Zealand, £4 Is ; National, £1 13s, ex div; South British, £2 17s ; Standard, 16s 6d ; Union, £1 4s; Colonial, 13s €d; New Zealand Loan, £6; National Mortgage, £1 10s ; Otago and Southland Investment. £1 12s Gd; Union Steamship, £ll 10s; Now Zealand Shipping Company, £5 16s 6d ; N.Z. Drug, £1 3s Gd; Mosgiel Woollen Factory, £4 2s; N.Z. Hardware, £L AUCTIONEEE'S EEPOET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Limited, report on the produce markets for the week ending 17th November, as follows: Sheepskins—At our opening auction sale on the I7th, conducted by Mr E. S. Harley, at the temporary stores, Lichfield street, there was a large attendance, and buyers displayed their consideration for the debutant auctioneer by bidding with spirit throughout. Upwards of 100 lots were catalogued, covering 2200 skins of various qualities, which were all quitted at very full rates, notwithstanding that an unusually large supply, covering upwards of 12,000 skins, had to be offered at the other wool stores during the d*iy. Butchers' crossbred realised up to Gs 9d, and. merinos up to 6s sd. The bulk of the offering consisted of dry country skins, which were placed at—For merino, 2s 6d to 3s 4d, 4s to 4s Bd, 5s 6d to 6s Bd, and up to 7s Gd for a line of double fleeces. Crossbreds fetched 2s 4d to 3s, 4s to sg, t s 9d to Gs 4d, and 6s 9d ; lambskins, la to Is sd. Skins in bales, principally pelts, brought 4Jd, sd, and GJd per lb. Hides—All brought forward were quitted at 4Jd to 4|d per lb. Eongh fat was well competed for, and realised 2Jd to 2Jd per lb. Mr J. G. Hawkes reports the sale of the following shares at hia yesterday's auction :—6 Gas Company, 4th issue, £7 5s ; 18 Ashburton do. £3 10s; 112 South British Insurance, £3 IGs; 25 National Insurance, £ll3s ; 19 Press Newspaper Company, £2 paid, £3. The biddings were very animated.
