The Treasurer delivered his financial statement in tho Legislative Assembly last night. Ho showed that the revenue last year amounted to £6,348,000, and the expenditure to £5,157,000. He estimates the revenue for the present year at £6,348,000, and the expenditure at £5,961,000. No increase of taxation or of Customs duties is proposed. A revision of the system of leasing pastoral lands is to bo made with a view to obtain increased rents. The estimates of expenditure show increases on account of education, railways and immigration.
