THE BETTING MARKET.

There has been but little animation in sporting circles daring the past week. Folle Farine, one of the Stanmore acceptors, and also Mortmain, one of the Sydenham entries, have so far receded in the betting that offers of 20 to 1 cannot find favor, owing. 1 think, to the declaration of the stable that it would not be advisable to work them any more till close on the day of tho race, their condition telling against them. Whiteboy has been entered for the last named event, and, as ho is a good ’nn, ho is sure to rig the market. Time-o’-Day and Metalliolan have both crept up a point, the latter being now quoted at even money. I append tho latest quotations :
