Sale of the Ferret The steamship Ferret has been purchased by the Euro Steamship Company o£ Adelaide, to replace the steamer Euro, which was wrecked last month at Beach port. The Presbytery. The Melbourne Presbytery, at their sitting to-day, adopted, by 23 to 9, a motion declaring that as Mr Stewart, an elder of the Scotch Church had not retracted his imputation of dishonesty on the part of the defenders of the doctrine of the Westminster Confession, ho could not sit as a member of the Presbytery until he complied with its requirements. SYDNEY, September 10. Sporting. The last day’s races of the Australian Jockey Club’s Spring Meeting took place to-day at Randwick. The Randwick Plate, 3 miles, was won by Wellington, with Marmora 2nd. The Steeplechase, 3 miles, resulted as follows : —Wrangler, 1; Abdallah, 2 ; Jupiter, 3. The Members’ Handicap, 1 mile and 1 furlong, was won by Wheatear, the Derby winner. ADELAIDE, September 10. Correction. Correction—ln yesterday’s quotation of wool freights read; —Freights to London by steamer, greasy wool Id, scoured lid; ditto by sailing vessel, greasy id, scoured id.
