The Victorian Government, in view of the great increase of smallpox in Sydney, ia now taking further precautionarymeasures against the spread of the disease to this colony.
The Wakatipu, N-Z-, Copper Company.
A prospectus has been issued here inviting subscriptions to shares to the amount of £20,000 in the Moko Creek, Copper Company, Wakatipu, N Z. SYDNEY, August 23. Still Spreading-
Two furthor cases of smallpox in the city are announced. The sufferors are Margaret Lindsay, residing in Sussex street, and a youth living in a lane off Abercrombie street.
BRISBANE, August 23. Successfully Floated.
A private telegram has been received from London announcing that Mr John Henley has completed the floating of the Burrum Company, with a capital of £150,000, of which £IO,OOO is reserved for Queensland shareholders. Tho scheme includes the purchase of the principal mines near Burrum, and the establishment of a shipping depot at Frasor's Island.
