A collision occurred at the Heeds Int night between Captain Williams’ barque Australind and the brig Neptune, which were beating up tho passage. The Australind was on the port tack and the Neptune on tho starboard tack, and on nearing one another the wind baflhd. Both vrsaels went ; n stays, but there was not sufficient time to avoid a coJlnion. The bow of the Neptune struck the bow of the Australind. The latter had part of her head gear and stern carried away. The whole of the head gear, four or five stanchions, end the bows of the Neptune were carried away, no other damage being done. The capta>n of the Australind states that the col'ision was purely accidental, and would have been avoided had the wind not baffled.
