[PBB PEES 3 ASSOCIATION.] THAMES, July 22. Important Decision. The case of tho Collector of Customs against Ehrenfried, brewer, was hoard 10-doy. The charge was the permitting to bo used false and fraudulent stamps. The case was dia missed, the magistrate ruling that using stamps twice was not using false and fraudulent stamps under the Beer Duty Act. A. Hogg, brewer, was fined £2O and coals for neglecting to cancel the stamp on a cask of beer. AUCKLAND, July 22. Child Drowned A child two and a half years old, the daughter of Mr Keating, Cona creek, was drowned in a pool of water while playing. A Fight at SeaOn the passage of the Eaxkun from Hamburg an encounter took place between the mate and a seaman. Whitelaw has Friends. The amount of the lino inflicted on Whitelaw ia being snbreribed in town. Aquatic. Steps are being taken to form another Rowing Club here. Steamer Overdue. Nothing has been heard of the steamer Mohaka, which left Blenheim for \v ellington on Monday last, but it is surmised that she has sought shelter in one of the neighboring Bounds. The Wafcatu, which ran ashore at Patou on Wednesday, was flouted off last evening without having suslaiued any injury. Gold Export-
