[per press association.] WELLINGTON, June 10. Industrial Exhibition. The total receipts of tho Wellington industrial Exhibition are £3BO, and the expenses £220. TIMARH, June 10. Criminal. The sitting of the Supremo Court was resumed this morning. John McManns, charged with stealing a cash box and £6 10a from the bar of the Winchester Hotel, was sentenced to three years’ penal servitude. James Comisky, Hugh Boyd, and Patrick Egan were charged with wilfully setting fire to a haystack, tho property of William Gosling, farmer, of Mount Horrible, Egan said he was guilty, but Boyd and Comisky were quite innocent. The Crown offering no evidence against those two they were discharged. Egan received a good character from the police, and his Honor said he would take his case into consideration, and see if under the circumstances he could award a light sentence for so heavy an offence. DUNEDIN, June 10. Fatal Mining Accident. Thomas O’Kano, a miner, was killed by a fall of earth in his claim at Moke creek. Committal. Harry Charles Meade, for attempted suicide, was committed for trial. CARTERTON, June 11. Freezing Point. Mr Buchanan,- president of tho Agricultural and Pastoral Society, is calling a public meeting here to consider tho advisability of forming a company to erect the necessary maohiney for shipping frozen meat and dairy produce to England. INVERCARGILL, June 11. Sudden Death. Charles Eairweather, one of the oldest settlers in the district, while driving through the town to-day, fell hack in his dray and expired almost instantaneously.
