[reuter’s telegrams.] ALBANY, May 16. Royal Middies. H.M.S. Bacchante, with Princes Albert Victor and George of Wales on board, arrived in King George’s Sound to-day with hor rudder disabled. She parted company with tho detached squadron on Thursday last, tho 12th inst. The following information was supplied by the officers of the Bacchante ; —After leaving the Cape the detached squadron met with favorable weather until Wednesday last, the 11th instant, when tho wind freshened and increased to a heavy gale during the night. On Thursday morning a heavy sea struck the Bacchante, carrying away one of tho lifeboats, and at midday another sea broke on board, disabling the steering gear. A jury rudder was rigged, and the Bacchante made for King George’s Sound to repair damage. She leaves as soon as possible for Capo Otway, where the squadron rendezvous on the 19th instant. The Royal Princes are in good health. No casualties to life occurred on the 11th and 12th inst. during tho storm.
