CANTERBURY SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION.

The fourteenth anniversary of the above Union wag celebrated yesterday in the Oddfellows' Hall, Lichfield street. At six o’clock about 300 persons eat down to tea, the tables being presided over by Meadames Smart, Woodham, and J. S. Cooke, and Misses Moßeath, E. Wood, E. 8. Cooke, Ross, L. Lock, Woodham, Shaw, Pillow, Drew, Greenaway, »nd Ohidgey. Tho annual meeting was held subsequently, the chair being taken by Mr H. J. Ross. The report for the past year was road by Mr Peake. It congratulated the meeting on tho successes of the year, during which period eleven schools had joined the Union, also on tho centenary services, which were a success in every respect, and finally it paid a tribute of respect to the late Mr John Greenaway, in whom they had loot a zealous fellow-worker. The treasurer’s statement showed the receipts of the year to have been £523 Iss 3d, of which a credit balance of £62 Oa 8d remained ; the year’s expenditure being £461 14) 7d. Addresses were delivered by the Revs. O. Dallaston, W. Baumber, C. Fraser, A. Peters, and B. T. Hallowea, and several anthems, &c., were effectively rendered by the choir, Mr H. Oorriok acting as organist and conductor. The stage was prettily decorated with pot plants and evergreens. The customary vote of thanks concluded tho proceedings.
