CORRESPONDENCE.
HALSWELL SPORTS.
To the Jbditor of the Olobe. Sib,—Will you kindly inform me who is responsible (the committee, or whom) for the extraordinary conduot of an individual, decorated with some badge of office, who was so very conspicuous at this meeting. His peculiarities consisted of galloping a borrowed horse over the paddock, causing- much annoyanco, which was to be regretted, as but for his conduct, the meeting would have been a great success. I enquired who ho was, but could only discover that be was a scion of a noble house, and that he resided with his mother. I was pleased to hear this, and watched with great interest the gates, hoping that that lady would arrive, and take charge of her reckless offspring, but, while watching his erratic course, a kick from his borrowed steed was delivered so close to my daughter's head, that I was glad to roach the gate, and escape further risk of danger. Yours, &c, PATERFAMILIAS. Ohristchurch, 3rd January, 1881.
