MASONIC.

Last evening there was a large gathering of the oraft at the installation of the W.M. and officers of the Lodge of Ur* nimity, Lyttelton. On this occasion the R W. Dist. G.M. Bro. Donald made his first Masonic appearance since his return, and received a warm welcome from the brethren. The Deputy Diet. G.M. Bro. H. Thomson installed the officers as follows W.M., Bro, W. B. Allwright (re-elected); 8.W., Bro. Joyce ; J.W., Bro. T. Pritchard ; Treasurer, Bro. 8. O. Phillips (re-elected) { Secretary, Bro. Hannay; Organist, Bro. Wiggins (reelected) ; 8.D., Bro. Hanson ; J.D., Bro. Thompson j D. 0., Bro. Edwards; 1.Q., Bro. Roberts. After the installation, the W. Deputy District G.M. ten-, dered on behalf of the oraft a warm welcome to the District G.M. Bro. Donald on his return, which was suitably acknowledged. After the closing of the Lodge the brethren spent a pleasant hour, when the usual loyal and masonic toasts were given and responded to.—The installation of the W.M. and officers of the Corinthian Lodge, 463, 1.0., also took place at the St. Augustine Hall, W. Bro. Deamer, P.M.M.W. 180., acted as Installing Master, supported by a number of Past-Masters and Masters, representing the following lodges, viz. : St. Augustine, Canterbury, Robert Burns, Southern Cross, Conyers, and lonic Lodges. The following brethren were installed in their respective offices, viz. Bro. R. Rutledge, W.M.; G. M. Oormick, 1.P.M.; W. Cardwell, S.W.; W. H. Carter, J.W.; J. Farrell, P.M., treasurer; R. 0. Pitt, secretory!; J. Orgill Nome, D. 0.; W. D. Robinson, S.D.; T. B. Toneycliffe, J.D.; T. Lasoelles, I.G. ; W. Jones, O.Q. After which the brethren spent a very enjoyable evening.
