DISTRICT PRIZE FIRING.

The E Battery, New Zealand Artillery, competed for the above prizes yesterday afternoon. Whether it was that the prizes were not considered worth oompeting for, or that the day was not suitable for the men getting away from their business avocations, the number competing was small. The wind was very baffling, or no doubt the score would have been higher. Conditions of the shooting were as follows :—Banges, 200, 250, and 300 yards ; seven shots at each range.
