The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Saturday, October 23rd, were as follows : Spirits, i 575 4s lOd; wine, .£ll 10s; tea, £32 0a 8d ; ad valorem, .£24 15s; total, .£143 19s 6d.
At the nsnal sitting of the Waste Lands Board, held at Christchurch on Monday, October 25th, sales were made as follows : Ordinary: Geraldine, 6 acres; Waimate, 13 acres, Under Public Eeserves Sales Act, im--mediate payment, 369 acres; deferred payment, 40 acres; village settlement: South Eakaia, 3a Ir 16p. Total acreage sold, 431 alr 16p. Total cash received, .£BO6 19s 6d. LAND SALE. Mb J. L. Wilson reports:—At my auction lost week I sold 626 acres of land at West Melton at £2 15s per acre. The sections in Hawit’s road and the 25 acres at Hiccorton did ■oat fetch owners’ limit, and wiU be put up again shortly.
