FARMERS’ CLUB.

A meeting was held at Flanagan’s Hotel, -Sheffield, on Tuesday, October 19th, to meet delegatee from the different districts Id the neighborhood, for the purpose of ascertaining whether it was possible to form a Farmers’ Club in tho district. Mr Anson, of door ten ay, was voted to tho chair, and explained that the object in writing to this district was to infuse more interest into the Courtenay show, which was the outcome of the Courtenay Farmers' Club, and now that the show had been opened to Coleridge, Bakaia, the three Malverns, and the Upper Waimakariri districts, he hoped to see the farmers of those districts take an interest in it. After a long desultory conversation it was proposed by Mr Barr, and seconded by Mr Robison—“ That the delegates from the Malvern and East Malvern road districts pledge themselves to use their best endeavors to form a branch club of the Courtenay Farmers’ Club. ” Carried unanimously. After discussion respecting the formation of a -club, the Courtenay delegates asked, for suggestions relative to the forthcoming- show, and several present suggested alterations and additions to the schedule, which will receive tho attention of the Courtenay association. A vote of thanks was passed to the Courtenay delegates for their kindness in coming such a distance to forward the interests of the district. Several persons wore proposed _as •members of tho association, and a meeting will bo called immediately to test the opinion -of the inhabitants as to tho possibility of forming a club of their own, or a branch of the Courtenay Club.
