CHRISTCHURCH MUFF CRICKET CLUB.
The annual general meeting of the above Club was held last night, Mr Judge presiding, i he Secretary, Mr W. H. Smith, brought up the report and balance-sheet for the past year, which on the motion of Mr Strange was adopted. The Secretary reported that the material belonging to the club was in good order, and that there was sufficient to carry on through the season. On the motion of Mr Hale, it was resolved that the committee consist of seven for the ensuing season. It was resolved that Messrs Jubal Fleming, 8. Manning, W.H. Messenger, B. J. Hale, W. G. Judge, W. B, Mitchell, H.Hobday, form the committee for the season of 1880. Mr Hale moved—“ That the opening game of the season be played on Friday, October 29th, sides to be chosen on the ground.” Mr Strange seconded the motion, whioh was agreed to. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the hon. secretary, Mr W. H. Smith, for his valuable services to the club during the past season. Two new members were elected. The meeting terminated with a vote of thanks to the chairman.
