OXFORD BAPTIST CHURCH.
A tea meeting was held in connection with the above church on Wednesday. Tabl:a were provided by the ladies of the congregation, and were presided over by Mesdamea 0010, Gardiner, Heyward and Simmonds, Miea Gardiner, Misa McJarrow, and Miss Powell. After tea the Rev. T. Harrington delivered hia lecture on John Banyan, in aid of the church renovation fund. The chair was taken by Mr T. Sharplin, and there waa a large attendance. The lecturer made several pauses in the lecture, while tho choir, under the leadership of Mr E. Twose, gave the anthems “How Beautiful upon the Mountains,” “ Open ye tho Gates,” and “ Salvation Bslongelh unto tho Lord,” Misa Woodfield presiding at the organ. A hearty vote of thanka, oh tho motion of Mr Simmonds, seconded by Mr R. Twose, waa accorded tho Eov. T. Harrington for his able and eloquent lecture. A vote of tbanta, moved by the Rev. T. Harrington, seconded by Mr T. Sharplin, was also accorded to the choir, and the ladies who provided the tea. A very successful gathering was then brought to a cl ;so by the Rev. T. Harrington pronouncing the Benediction.
