KAIAPOI CRICKET CLUB.

The annual meeting wa* held on Wednesday, in Mr J. L. Wilson’s office. Mr Wilson was voted to the chair. Mr H. A’Oourt, hon. secretary and treasurer, read the report and balance-sheet. The latter showed that the receipts had been £2l 5s 9d, expenditure £l9 6s 3d ; balance in hand and assets, £2 19s 6d ; liabilities, £l3 4s. The statement was adopted. Mi Pinching moved, Mr Q. H. Barclay seconded—“ That the annual subscription be 15), Junior members 2a 63,” to which Mr O. Hayman moved, Mr Thome seconded — 11 That the subscription be 10s, juniors 55.” The amendment was carried. The rules of the club were revised and confirmed, with an amendment that three members of committee form a quorum instead of five, as previously. The officers and members of committee elected were —President, Mr G. H. Blackwell 5 vice-presidents, Messrs Pinching and J. Merrin; Mr W. Dixon, hon. secretary and treasurer; Messrs Wilson, Barclay, A’Court, Thorne, Higgins, and Hayman, committee. It was decidedthatthe match captain be elected by the eleven chosen to play in each match. Mr Thorne was elected practice captain. Messrs Thorne, Barclay and Merrin were elected a ground committee for the season. Mr Pinching, in addition to his former offer of a paddeeb, offered to find a man for a week to level same. Messrs A’Oourt, Weston and Wilson were elected a committee to arrange for a concert to clear the debt. On the motion of the chairman a vote of thanks was accorded to Mr A’Oouit for the manner in which he had filled the office of secretary since the starting of the club. Votes of thanks were passed to Mr J. Hurs'o for the use of his paddock ; to Mr Wright, ciptain of last season ; and to the Domain Board for the loan of a roller. The first match was fixed to be played on Saturday, October 2nd.
