THE DRUIDS.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the Bad of Hope Lodge, Bangiora, was held at their lodge room, Bangiora, on Thursday evening, 16th instant. Five members from Christchurch lodges were also present. It was decided to hold an entertainment at an early date, in order to purchase regalia for the lodge. This lodge is progressing rapidly. After the transaction of a considerable amount of business, and spending a most enjoyable evening, the lodge was closed in due form by A.D. Bro. Luxton. —A preliminary meeting was held at the Bailway Hotel, Amborley, on Friday evening, to take steps to form a Druid Lodge in Amberley, of which there seems every probability of a strong lodge being formed. A.D. Bro. J. Harris, of the Pionear Lodge, occupied the chair, and explained the objects and benefits of the order, and called on Bros, Hawes and Smith, of the Bud of Hope Lodge, Bangiora, to address the meeting Mr Easterbrook was appointed secretary pro tem, and Mr Qajnor, treasurer. A strong working committee was also formed. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the visitors for their attendance there that evening, which was duly responded to by Bro. J. Harris. The meeting was then adjourned until Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock, at Mr McLean’s Hotel. The visitors were entertained by Mr Gaynor in excellent style, and a very pleasant evening was spent, the meeting breaking up at a late hour.
