BAKERS' CRICKET CLUB.
A meeting of the members of the above cricket club wbb held last night at the Market Hotel. Mr G. Hawker occupied the chair, and there was a largo muster. The following officers were appointed for the ensuing season : —President, Mr G. Hawker ; seoretary and treasurer, Mr G. Bennett; captain, Mr T. B. Whitfield ; custodian, Mr F. Haddrell; committee, Messrs Ebert, Lloyd, Whitfield, Taylor, and Donohue. It was resolved on the motion of Mr Whitfield that the opening matoh of the season be played with a fifteen from the butchers of Ohristchuroh, to take place on the first Thursday in October. The annual subscription was fixed at ss, and it was resolved that any member in arrears would not be allowed to play. A vote of thanks was accorded to the retiring officer*, several members, however, expressing thoir dissatisfaction at the manner in whioh the late t eoretary had conducted the duties of his office. The meeting then terminated.
