NEW COURT OF FORESTERS.
A now Court of the Ancient Order of Foresters, called Court Woodford, No. 6583. was opened last evening at tho Farmers' Club Chamber, at Kaiapoi. P.O.R. Gapes, sen., the District Sub-Chief Eanger, assisted by P.D.O.E. Crooks, the District Treasurer, P.O.R. Tho. Gapes, the District Seoretary, and P.D.O.E. Hobbs conduotod the opening ceremony. A large muster of the members of the Court Star of Canterbury, Ohristohurch, were also present. Twenty-two members were initiated .and the following officers elected: —Chief ranger, Bro. Woodford, P.0.E.; sub-chief ranger, Bro. Brooks ; treasurer, Bro. Hempleman ; secretary, Bro. Fowler ; senior woodward, Bro. Albert; junior woodward, Bro. Latto ; senior beadle, Bro. Hayman ; junior beadle, Bro. Senor. After the transaction of detail business the members adjourned to Patman's Pier Hotel for refreshment, where an excellent spread was made by mine host. This lodge will meet on the second and fourth Mondays in each month.
