The meeting also passed a vote of want of confidence in the Ministry, in consequence of its having opposed the motion recently carried in the Legislative Assembly for the appointment of a committee to inquire into the charges brought against the Premier and the Colonial Secretary in Mr Hemmant’s petition to the House.
