OHEISTCHUBOH. Tuesday, July 20. [Before Hia Honor Judge Ward.J The monthly sittings of the District Court opened at 11 a.ru. EABCHMAN APPELLANT V. BESWICK RESPONDENT. Mr Perceval, for respondent, applied herein for an adjournment for a month of this case. Mr Spackman, for the appellant, objected to the delay proposed by tho other side. His Honor said that as at present advised he was averse to granting the delay asked for by Mr Perceval. Mr Perceval said that if hia learned friend would put witnesses in the box to prove that the appellants would be prejudiced by tho delay he would not press his application. His Honor-said he would let the matter stand until next day. BDWABD3 V. CUDDOK. This case was settled out of Court. VAUGHAN AND COBDNEE V. SillTH. Mr Spackman for the plaintiff. Mr Holmes for defendant. This was an action in which the plaintiff sought to recover £26 and £lO damages. Tho cause of action was that a man named Gowie had obtained a loan from the plaintiffs giving them a lean over his crops. Subsequently Qowie sold to defendant a portion of tho crops over which the plaintiffs had a lean to the amount of £26. Plaintiffs applied to defendant to account for tho amount thus received, but he declined to do so. The defence set up was that Gowie sold, the wheat to defendant as agent of the plaintiff. Judgment for defendant, with costs.
