LATE CABLE NEWS.
[Per b.s. Wakatipu, at Wel'irgton.] LONDON, July 5. Sir Daniel Oooper presided at the adjourned meeting of representatives of the various British Colonies in reference to the unity of the Empire. A long discussion took place, but the subject was virtually postponed till winter. A committee was however formed^ to consider the best means of improving the_indefinite relations which exist in many points between England and her Colonies. The total quantity of wool offered since the opening of the wool sales to date is 7700 bales. The prospects of the series are not so good. At a meeting of the members of the Colonial Institute held to-day, a committee was appointed to advance the federation of the Colonial Empire. July 7. Turkey is mobilizing her arming corps at Adrianople and fortifying Hellespont. She is also sending troops to Salonica. Q-reeco is mobilising her reserves.
