ENGINEER VOLUNTEERS.
The Engineers held their usual weekly parade on Friday evening, May 7th ; there was a good attendance. After parade the annual general meeting was held in the Orderly room, Lieutenant Appleby presiding, who, in his opening remarks, gave a short resume or the work done by the company during the past year, and stated that they had been very successful both in drill and shooting. The treasurer road the statement of accounts, which vras adopted. Ser-, geant Palmer was elected secretary and treasurer for the ensuing year, and the several committees were duly appointed. SergeantMajor Manning and Sapper Henwood took the prizes for the best attendance during the year for non-commissioned officers. Five now members were sworn in, and two were proposed for membership. At the close of the meeting Lieutenant Appleby presented each member of the bayonet team with a large sheet photograph of the whole of the team, which was admirably got up by Messrs Wheeler and Son. It was decided to hold the annual dinner on the first Tuesday in June, The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chairman.
