LAND SALE.
The sale of land he'd by Messrs H. Matson and Co. at their sale rooms, yesterday, caused a large attendance to assemble, in fact the spacious room allotted for these sales _ was crowded to excess. The following properties were brought to the hammer :—3l sections at the junction of St. Asaph street. Barbadoes street, and Ferry road, owned by L. E. Nathan, Esq. Section 18, Mr John Coakley, fer .£445 ; X, Mr John Hansman, .£310; 31, Mr J. D. McPherson, .£3lO ; 19 and 20, Mr John Ebert, each £275; 21, Mr Shand, £220 ; 2 and 3, Mr Thomas O Connel, each .£2OO ; 6, Mr Shand, £220 ; 17. Mr H. Lee, £215 ; 7, Mr E. C. Ashby, £210; 16, Mr C. M. Phillips, £205; 15. C. M. Phillips, £205. Then followed 11 sections on the Perry road and East town bait, sold on account of Messrs Miles and Co.—Section 7, Mr J. Haig. £2BO ; 8, Mr W. J. Stevens, £300; 1, Mr G. Collier, £500; 2, Mr J. J. Courtney, £155; 9, J. Coles, £3OO. Then followed the Tiverton estate, containing 1045 acres, in the Kakaia district, but failing to reach the owner's price, was passed in; 21 sections at New Brighton, facing the spa beach, were also passed in. Total realised, £4820.
