CANTERBURY YEOMANRY CAVALRY.
Tho annual meeting of the C.Y. C. was held at the Britannia Hotel last evening. Capt. Slater occupied the chair, and the attendance was very large, all the contingents being well represented. The accounts as brought up by the captain wore most satisfactory. Various working committees were formed for the ensuing year, and the corp 3 was subsequently entertained at supper by QuartermasterSergeant McGuinneas, who is leaving for Timaru, and whose health was cordially drunk by his comrades. The other toasts were "Captain Slater," "The Commissionsd and Non-commissioned Officers," " The Old and Present Drill Instructors," and "The Band." • In reference to the Yeomanry Cavalry, it may be Btatod that requisitions have been sent in from Mount Somers and Alford Forest for the formation of a fresh contingent. In addition to this there is every chance of another troop being formed in Timaru.
