LAND SALE.
A sain of city and suburban properties by public uction was held on Saturday last at the salerooms of Messrs H. Matson and Co., of Cashel street. The attendance was large, but the biddings laclied spirit. Mr Walton acted as auctioneer. The first lot put up was a section of land with two cottages on Wilson's road, Opawa, but not reaching the price wanted wna passed in ; lot 2, house and one acre land at St. Albans, was bought in at £.122 103 ; lot 3, quarter acre section on Office road, Papanni, was sold for £llO ; lot 4, sections near the Mill Pace road, allotment 3, was sold to Mr H. C. Adams for .£9O ; allotment 4, Mr H. C. Adams, for £lO5 ; allotment 9, Mr H. C. Adams, for £115; and allotment 11, Mr W. Davis, for £BO. The next property was a leasehold shop, corner of Cashel street, and cottage corner of Durham street, after a spirited competition, w<is eventually knocked down to Mr T. W. Jones, of St. Albans, for £305. Mr J. Poster's sections near the workshops, Addington, wore withdrawn, failing to reach the owner's reserve. A nine-roomed house and quarter acre section in Gloucester street and three sections in Wilson's old nursery, off Perry road, shared the same fate. Totul sale, £BOS.
