THEATRE ROYAL

Notwithstanding the Inclemency of the weather there was a good attendance at the Theatre Royal last night. The bill comprised the Irish drama “ Kathleen Mavourneen ” and the burlesque version of “II Trovatoro,” both of which went very well. This evening Dion Baucicault’e great sensation play “ After Dark ” will be produced, with new scenery and effects. Additional attraction will be given to the Concert Hall scene by the appearance of the celebrated Hibernian comique Mr Barry O’Neill, who will sing his speciality “ Tommy Dodd " and introduce his “ Lightning Changes,” which were received with so much favor when he last performed in Christchurch.
