ACADEMY OF MUSIC.

“Eip Van Winkle" was produced last evening at the Academy of Music very successfully. The various parts were well filled by Miss Bessie Vivian, Miss Jennie Nye, Messrs Burford, Tyrrell, &c. To-night a local piece, entitled “Christchurch Ten Years Ago,” will be produced. For this extensive preparations have been made in the way of scenery, &c., Mr Willis having painted several local scenes. As the piece will contains number of local allusions, no doubt it will attract a large audience. The piece will be played to-night and to-morrow evening. In the course of the piece a variety olio of song* and dances will be introduced, together with a bone solo by Mr D. Clinton.
