DUCK SHOOTING.

To the Editor of the Globe. Sib, —On Monday (being the first day of the duck shooting season) Mrs Peter Kerr, of the Sandhills, had three ducks shot while quietly swimming about on the Avon near her house by three different would-be sportsmen. One duck she secured, one the boats' crew got, and the third one was taken away by the land sportsman who shot it. Now, Mr Editor, I am not a sporting man myself, but I do know this, that no true sportsman would fire at a duck until it was on tho wing, and a true sportsman would know a wild duck from a tame one. For the future a watch will he set upon these ignorant sportsmen, and some of them may find their shooting practice rather an expensive amusement. Yours, &c, W. P. Christchureh, March 30th, 1880.
