KAIAPOI FOAL, GRAIN, AND ROOT SHOW.
The working committee of this show have arranged for the holding of the exhibition of grain and roots in the largo hall attached to the Eaikainui hotel, on April Bth, and the foals in a paddock attached, the latter having been kindly placed at their disposal by Mr R. Allen. The secretary reports the receipt of several prizes, which will bo duly advertised on Wednesday. Those received to the present ore —Mr J. Walls, £2 2s, for beat foal by horse Pride of Scotland, and £2 2s for best foal by horse Sir Walter Scott; Mr G. Weston, £3 3s, for best foal by horse Meteor, and £1 Is second prize; Mr G. H. Blackwell, £1 Is, for best fresh batter, and £1 Is for best powdered butter; Mr W. Fraser, a box of the best tea for best cheese; and Messrs T. and W. R. May, a box of the best tea for salt butter in kegs. The arrangements of the committee are expected to be very complete. The latest time for receiving entries will be 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 3rd.
