IMPROVEMENTS AT RANGIORA.
In addition to the extensive building intended to roplao» the old Junction Hotel in High street, Messrs Gulliver Brothers, cabinet-makers, have recently finished a remarkably fine furniture depst on the same line of street. This covers an area of 50ft. x 26ft. and 18ft. stud. It includes an upper, as well as a lower floor, in which there is room for the display of their large stock of household furniture, which includes many articles of a superior manufacture. The front of the building is quite a contrast to those adjacent, and gives a busi-ness-like appearance to that portion of the street. It is contemplated shortly to erect new banking premises at the corner of High and Victoria streets for the Colonial Bank, in place of the ruinous building at present on that corner, and which, besides not being creditable to tho town, is in such a state that the borough valuator estimates its value about equal to that of a packing case.
